Diversity & Inclusion in the Public Relations
    and Advertising Industries

Rochelle Ford, a recognized expert in diversity and inclusion in public relations and advertising, will share her career and life experiences. Like many others in the PR industry, Ford gives credit to Ofield Dukes for much of her success and is a co-editor of Dukes’ autobiography. One of the nation’s most successful African-American public relations practitioners and one of the most influential people of the civil rights period, Dukes advised Martin Luther King Jr., Coretta Scott King, and author Alex Haley, as well as dozens of Motown stars, including Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross.

Wright will talk about the company’s communications strategy and lessons learned.

    Spontaneous vs. Planned Communications

Corrine Geller, Public Relations Director, Virginia State Police

A communication crisis can occur at any time, but rarely does an organization have weeks to plan for a potentially volatile event. At the June luncheon, Corrine Geller will relate the differences in handling a spontaneous situation versus the communication planning that goes into an event such as the multiple crisis that occurred in Charlottesville in 2017.
