About the event

Brad Wurthman has been with Virginia Tech since 2017 and oversees a wide range of external relations efforts including community outreach and fan engagement efforts, the Hokie Club, ticketing, marketing and promotions, HokieVision and hokiesports.com. Wurthman will talk about the critical role communications played in how Virginia Tech evaluated and decided when to allow crowds to come back for VT sporting events in relation to Covid-19. He’ll walk us through the thought process, the extensive communications efforts, and best practices of this complex situation. Wurthman is a native of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and most recently served as an associate athletics director for the University of Illinois.
