Join PRSA Blue Ridge as we give back to our community at Feeding Southwest Virginia in Salem. We will be sorting food to ensure quality.
Volunteers working in Quality Assurance (QA) evaluate donated food products by inspecting and sorting packaged food products to control for such issues as shelf life (dates), dented cans, crushed boxes, or other superficially damaged food. The purpose of QA is to ensure the food is safe for consumption as required by both Federal Government and Feeding America guidelines.
- Volunteers must be 16 or older.
- Can the volunteer safely lift 35 lbs.?
- Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes.
- The entrance to Quality Assurance is behind the Food Bank building.
